The Sunrise Smoothie

If you don’t have a blender, I highly recommend that you go get one now. This thing is magic, you can make so much out of it. And if you have kids, it is such a great way to make them discover all the fruits out there.

So today, we want to share with you one of our favorite “week-end morning” drinks It will load you in vitamins, happiness and great energy.

To make 2 large glasses, you will need:

  • 1 grapefruit
  • 3 oranges, peeled
  • 1 banana
  • half an avocado
  • a handful of goji berries, soaked for 10 minutes
  • 3 dates, pitted
  • a piece of aloe-vera

We never use ice cubes. The trick is to freeze your bananas once they are ripe enough and just use them for your smoothies.

  1. Squeeze the grapefruit and poor the juice in the blender
  2. Cut open a small piece of aloe vera leaf and scoop out 2 Tbsp of the pulp and add it in the blender
  3. Add all the other ingredients and blend

The grapefruit and oranges, we all know bring you vitamin C. Aloe vera is a great toxins and bacteria killer, its content in vitamins and essential elements is pretty intense : A, C, E, folic acid, choline, B1, B2, B3 (niacin), B6,calcium, magnesium, zinc, chromium, selenium, sodium, iron, potassium, copper, manganese. Aloe Vera is also one of the few plants that contains vitamin B12. This plant will help your body’s natural ability to adapt to external changes and resist illness and stress. It is great for your skin, amazing detox and will definitely boost your immune system.

Avocado is one of our favorite fruit. It is a great source of monounsaturated oleic acid (commonly call the good fat) that will help your body reduce cholesterol and maintain a great cardiovascular health, a perfect skin and keep you away from diabetes and arthritis.

Goji berries : Native to the Himalayan Mountains of Tibet and Mongoli, gojis have been used for thousands of years in Tibet and China, both as a culinary ingredient and medicinally. They contain all essential amino acids and have one of the highest (maybe the highest) concentration of protein of any fruit. Also loaded with vitamin C, fiber, iron, calcium, zinc, selenium, these tiny berries are super powerful and will increase strength and longevity.
