Turmeric Smoothie

I was going to write a post about the benefits of turmeric but I realized that I have one already. Right here 🙂

I have had the biggest intake of turmeric in my entire life in the past couple of months since we have been learning to harvest it, make the powder ourselves, and have discovered different ways to use this magical root such as in tea, smoothies, curries, condiments, etc

The base for this smoothie is a very easy homemade ginger/cinnamon tea: just boil a handful of fresh organic slices of ginger along with a cinnamon stick. Let simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off and let cool for a bit before making the smoothie. It is best when it is completely cool but you can also use it hot as the ice cubes will reduce the heat
