I can’t believe it took me over 30 years to discover this!!!
Raised in a Sri Lankan Tamil culture, I have been eating murungakkai since I am little. It’s those funny looking “drumsticks” with pods served in curry in SriLankan and Indian cuisine:
Now that I am in Costa Rica, I stumbled upon Moringa powder which I am going to tell you all about in a bit but guess what? Moringa powder and Murungakkai come from the same tree!!
Actually Moringa is derived from Murungail/Murunga, the Tamil word for drumstick!
It grows mostly in these southern countries, which is great as it brings a lot of health benefits to the population living in some of these countries where malnutrition can be severe:
The benefits are so wide that’s it almost incredible!
Moringa is packed with nutrients such as Iron, Potassium, Calcium, Fiber, Manganese, Protein and vitamins A, B, C, E, K, betacarotene. It’s full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, amino acids and essential nutrients.
In addition to providing you all these vitamins, it will improve your health and boost your energy. i am telling you I can feel it!
The easiest way I would say is to buy the Moringa powder and consume it as tea. It tastes just like green tea. You can also add it in soups, curries, your salad dressing…
So don’t think that just because you already eat fruits and vegetables, you don’t need additional supplements. In the world and lifestyles we live in now, we absolutely need some, especially when it’s known to :
- help against digestive issues
- improve your immune system functions
- treat stomach pains and ulcers
- lower blood pressure
- improve your mood, yes you will not feel depressed after a little Moringa tea!
- help cure diabetic people
look at this chart it’s crazy:
